Welcome to your library!

If you’re new to Hallam University this year then we’d like to welcome you to your Library and we look forward to seeing you soon.

Even if you’re not new to Hallam University this year, we want to let you know what to expect when you visit the library and to help you make the most of each visit.

Your library is open 24/7/365

Your campus libraries are easy to find and accessible, and for all students to use. We know you may have a lot on so we stay open 24/7 365 days of the year, which gives you the opportunity to study and access resources whenever you want, in a safe and welcoming environment.

Your perfect learning space

If you’re looking for a place free from distraction or somewhere to work together with friends and course mates then we have the perfect learning space for you.

Your campus libraries offer a wide range of learning spaces, from silent individual study spaces, to collaborative zones where you can book meeting rooms for group work. Find out more here.

Both campus libraries offer PCs and Macs, with a wide range of software, as well as colour and black and white printers.

Your campus libraries are home to half a million books and other physical learning resources. At Adsetts Library, the collections cover humanities courses, creative courses, business and engineering courses and many more. Collegiate Library collections are more geared to health courses, sport courses and many more.

You can also access a huge range of digital resources, including reading lists, ebooks, journals, specialist databases, and subject guides on your Library Online

Library Search is where you can discover resources like eBooks, online journal articles, films and more.

You can find specialist resources for your subject area on the library subject guides

Your Library’s Skills Centre provides a wide range of professional support to help you succeed in your studies. You can book online and in person, individual and group sessions that will help you develop and hone your study skills, such as academic writing and referencing.

There are also opportunities to develop your digital skills, get help with maths and stats, access on-demand session recordings and online resources, and receive feedback on your writing drafts.

Support from your Library

We're here to support you to become an independent learner and to be successful throughout your time at university.

Library Chat is available to support you 24/7 and we have FAQs to help with any questions you may have.

If you have a question or need general help you will find a Hallam Help point in each campus library.

And finally

We hope you found this information about your libraries helpful and we hope to see you here soon!
