Welcome to Wellbeing Wednesday in the Library! Each Wednesday, we will be featuring books or web-based information to help support your wellbeing.

Today, we want to focus on eating! Food can have a significant impact on ability to cope with the day, our energy levels and wellbeing. The good news is that there is lots of reliable sources that we can turn to get advice and guidance. Take a look at the NHS Eat Well pages for lots of advice and tips.

One of the things that we like to do is to make small changes as a small change can feel achievable.

Cooking can be daunting especially if you don’t feel that cooking is one of your strengths!

The good news is we have that covered with the Get Cooking with the Library reading list.

The list covers how to prepare and cook food, cooks books, bakery books, books related to a wide range of dietary options, seasonal eating, cooking with family, nutrition, technical cook books like molecular gastronomy and food and culture.  The list is international in focus and includes material from across the globe!

Why not try these books from Jack Monroe, Jamie Oliver and a more visual step by step book – Picture cook. Have a go at some new recipes and impress your pals with your comforting and nutritious meals.

Our wellbeing levels can differ at different times, and it is OK to ask for support. Each of us may prefer to get support in different ways. Reading or researching around an issue, connecting with a group whether it be in person on online or speaking on a one to basis with a trusted ally.
