Are you a Masters or PGT student working on a dissertation or research project this summer? Looking to boost your productivity, make progress on writing and join a community of other Masters students? Then the Writing Gym is for you!

The Writing Gym is a 5-week programme from the Skills Centre, created to help support you through the Masters dissertation process by providing a space for you to learn new approaches to writing, share ideas with others, and do some writing!

Our next programme begins June 28th 2021 and will run on Mondays from 3-4.30pm.

Each session is 90 minutes and will involve a mix of tuition, goal setting, writing and sharing experience. Two Academic Skills Advisors will facilitate each session, but you must come prepared to participate and support each other. There's no need to attend every session in our programme (although you are more than welcome to!) - you can choose to attend the sessions that fit with your progress so far.

The sessions are all hosted online in Zoom. Outside of the live sessions, you will also have access to our Writing Gym Blackboard site to participate in discussion boards, share short extracts of your writing and access session recordings.

If you are interested in finding out more, you can watch a recording of our induction session from last year before browsing the full programme and booking onto sessions via our website. If you are unable to attend the sessions, or have any questions, please email m.hare@shu.ac.uk and k.hemsworth@shu.ac.uk.

We hope to see you in the Gym soon!
