We’re really excited to tell you that you’ll soon be able to browse the books in the library again!

The library is gradually starting to ease the restrictions we have in place in the buildings, and our first step is to reopen the shelves so you can browse the shelves and borrow using the self-service machines. Access to the library is for Hallam students and staff only.

You will no longer need to use Click and Collect to borrow from the library although postal loans remain for anyone in the UK who can’t visit us in person.

Here’s the timetable of when you’ll be able to browse and borrow:

  • Adsetts - Monday 19th July - shelves open for browsing (use Click and Collect to borrow)

  • Collegiate - Tuesday 20th July - shelves open for browsing (use Click and Collect to borrow)

  • Wednesday  21st July - borrow in Adsetts and Collegiate libraries using self-service machines

Remember to use Library Search to find out where books and other items are located.

For now, you will need to continue to book your learning spaces in advance if you want to study in the libraries. The existing COVID safety measures also continue to be in place, in line with university guidance, including wearing a mask when moving around the library buildings.
