Referencing is an essential part of academic writing.  It helps you acknowledge other people's work and establish your own ideas. There is more than one way to do this,with subjects or disciplines having heir own preferred style of referencing.  Most students at Hallam use a style called APA Referencing but some courses expect you to use another style.
