New Skills Centre e-module now live

Kickstart your academic skills in 2021

Looking to give your work the edge this year, improve your assignments or feel more on top of your studies?

The Essential Skills for Academic Success e-module is a 30-minute online course from the Library Skills Centre, introducing you to the wide range of free skills development opportunities and resources available to you as a new Sheffield Hallam student. As part of the module, you’ll be asked to reflect on the skills and experiences that got you here, and you’ll receive a personalised action plan for how to take your work to the next level.

Returning student?

If you're returning for your 2nd or 3rd year of study, and looking for personalised recommendations on how to develop your skills, take the SkillsCheck. This online, self-evaluation tool asks you to reflect on your writing and research skills, and will generate an action plan that matches your objectives for the year ahead.
