Essential Skills for Academic Success

Looking to give yourself a head start with your studies? This short e-module will introduce you to the key academic skills you need at university level, and how and where these fit into your course, as well as practical strategies for developing these skills with sessions and resources from the Skills Centre.

The Essential Skills for Academic Success e-module should taken no more than 30 minutes to complete. You can save your progress and return any time by going to your Organisations on Blackboard.

How to enrol

Self-enrol onto this module via Blackboard by following these simple steps.

  1. Log into Blackboard.
  2. Click on this link - Essential Skills for Academic Success enrolment page.
  3. Click Submit.
  4. Click Ok.
  5. Once you've done this, you'll be able to access the site using this direct link, or under 'Organisations' from your Blackboard homepage.

You will not have access to this module until you are fully enrolled as a SHU student.
