Skills Centre What's On

About our session types

The Skills Centre can work with you to develop your academic writing and study skills while working remotely:

  • Webinars: An interactive, online version of a workshop, with participation via the chat and voice features in Blackboard Collaborate.
  • Virtual Drop-ins: Online drop-ins with expert advisors on academic writing, literature searching and referencing, and Maths and Stats, for instant answers to your assignment questions.
  • 1-1sA 30 minute session with a learning adviser for feedback and advice on how to develop your academic skills and writing. Available on campus, by phone or as online appointments in Blackboard Collaborate.

Find out more about these different session types and how to register to book for sessions, or scroll down to see the forthcoming sessions and book a place.  Places must be booked on all sessions except the quick query drop-ins.  See more sessions and up-to-date availability in UniHub Appointments and Events.

You can also access our online study guides for in-depth information and resources on our core academic skills topics. For information on how to make the most of the library while working from home, visit the Hallam Library online guide.
