The Skills Centre can work with you to develop your academic writing and study skills while working remotely:
Find out more about these different session types and how to register to book for sessions, or scroll down to see the forthcoming sessions and book a place. Places must be booked on all sessions except the quick query drop-ins. See more sessions and up-to-date availability in UniHub Appointments and Events.
You can also access our online study guides for in-depth information and resources on our core academic skills topics. For information on how to make the most of the library while working from home, visit the Hallam Library online guide.
Please note: Students should book a maximum of one 1-1 appointment per week - this ensures that you have time to develop your work between appointments and gives other students a fair opportunity to access 1-1s.
For quick questions, you can attend our virtual drop-in session to talk to an academic skills advisor, every Wednesday from 4-6pm. There is no need to book: you can drop-in for a 15 minute 1-1 with an academic skills advisor, librarian, digital skills expert, or Maths and Stats advisor. 30 minute bookable 1-1s with an Academic Skills Adviser. Some advisers offer both telephone appointments and online appointments, so you can choose when booking. This list displays the next available 1-1s - you can find more sessions and up-to-date availability in UniHub.
Online drop-ins with members of the library team for instant answers to your assignment questions. Each session will include a member of staff from Academic Skills, Library & Information Skills, and Digital Skills. Find out more...
