Receive individual or small group support with any aspect of undertaking quantitative research or understanding taught material from research methods or statistics modules including
  • study/survey design
  • choosing the right techniques, interpreting results
  • using software such as Qualtrics, SPSS, Jamovi, SAS, Excel
  • understanding course material

Statistics support is available for most of the year but the times and lengths of sessions vary with demand and on-campus sessions at Adsetts and Collegiate libraries are usually restricted to main term times. 

Appointments and drop in sessions only appear two weeks before they occur

Note: statistics support is provided primarily by one lecturer (Ellen Marshall) who is leaving Sheffield Hallam in May 2024.  At the moment there is no replacement and emails to statshelp will not be answered.

Locations for stats support

Adsetts library

Adsetts library

Adsetts library Adsetts sessions are in room 6624 on the 6th floor of Adsetts library

Enter through the main entrance on the 4th floor and go up the stairs to the 6th floor

Go right at the top of the stairs then left to the computer room 6624

Collegiate library

Adsetts library Collegiate sessions are in room C106 on the 1st floor of Collegiate library

Enter through the main entrance and go up the stairs in front of you to the 1st floor

Go straight ahead and slightly to the right to the computer room C106

Online academic skills drop-in Wednesdays 4-5:30pm    

Every Wednesday at least one statistics advisor is available at the academic skills online drop in.  Just go to the virtual room during those times and ask for stats help.
