Games and the Interactive Media Resources Room

 

Games Room reopening Monday 27th September 2021

There is a collection of games for the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Wii and WiiU in the Interactive Media Resources Room on Level 5 of the Adsetts Library (Room 6503, behind the lift).

These can be used on the consoles in the room or can be borrowed for use at home. The games and the room can only be used by students on designated courses covering games and animation.

You can use Library Search to find which games are available. Refine the search to just games by selecting the content type "Computer games".

The Adsetts Games Room

Since the Games Room was set up several years ago the nature of gaming has changed and we are currently undertaking a project to establish if the current set up is fit for purpose.  Your input into the process is essential and there are feedback forms available in the room for you to contribute your thoughts and ideas.

At this stage no decisions have been made we're just looking for constructive feedback to help with the decision making process further along the line.

You can use the games and the Interactive Media Resources Room if you are on one of the following courses:

  • BA Games design
  • BA Game Art
  • BA Game design and development
  • BSc Games and interactive media technologies
  • BSc Games software development
  • BSc Interactive media with animation
  • MA Games design
  • MA Game Art
  • MA Animation for computer games
  • MA Animation and special effects
  • MComp Games software development
  • MSc Games software development

The room is open during the Adsetts Hallam Help point opening hours. Please see the Hallam Help page for up to date opening times. 

You will need to borrow an access card from the Hallam Help point on level 4 of the Adsetts Library. Please let the staff know which console you would like to use. They can then provide you with the correct card and any required controllers.

The room is on Level 5. Head towards the toilets and the room is on your left behind the lift.

Please return the access card and controllers before you leave the building or you will be charged the replacement cost.

The games can be used in the room or borrowed for use at home.

  • Some games can be borrowed for one day, others for a week.
  • Fines are charged for late return.
