I need to reference something in APA 6: Own work

I need to reference something in APA 6: Check which referencing style you should use before following advice on this page.

Own work

Own work

Your own work may be:

1) Original, unpublished work that you use to support an assignment.

Original research or images created to support academic work do not need to be referenced.  In your writing you should provide enough information so that your reader will understand the context and method of any research and the significance of images in your work.

You may use appendices and should follow the conventions for using captions for images and figures.

2) Your work that has been previously assessed.

For work that has been previously assessed make sure that this is clear in any subsequent work that will be assessed.   You are not allowed to receive academic credit for work that has already been assessed.  Discuss this with your supervisor or tutor.

3) Your work that has been published.

For work that has been previously published follow the conventions for any published work.
