This is a guide to Sheffield Hallam University Library for students and staff from other universities and members of the public.

COVID-19 measures

Library Associate Membership & Visitors

The Libraries have now reopened, however following Public Health England guidance we are unable to provided access to external users.

We are not accepting new applications or updating current membership expiry dates until we are in a position to allow access to the buildings and physical resources.

Using the library

If you're not a student or member of staff at Sheffield Hallam, you can still use the University's libraries.

We have libraries at both campuses: Adsetts Library at City Campus and Collegiate Library at Collegiate Campus.

There are special arrangements for school and college students over 16 who would like to use our libraries to support their studies. Please see our Schools and Colleges Guide for more information.

Opening hours

The libraries are open to visitors during the daytime. Please note that you will be asked to show some ID. The exact hours vary slightly between term time and the University holidays.

If you would like to use the libraries regularly, get access 24/7 or borrow books, you need to register to become an Associate Member.  For more information, see the Membership page of this guide.

Both of our libraries are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year for Sheffield Hallam students, staff, and Associate Members.
