Remote Academic Skills 1-1 Appointments (by Phone or Online)

  • 30 minute bookable 1-1 appointments with Academic Skills Advisers
  • Discuss skills like structuring essays, being critical and planning research
  • If online, choose from text chat, screen sharing, microphone, and/or camera
  • Book a maximum of one appointment per seven days (one week)

Academic Skills 1-1 Appointments at City Campus (or also online):

  • 30 minute bookable 1-1 appointments with Academic Skills Advisers
  • Discuss skills like structuring essays, being critical and planning research
  • Our on campus 1-1s at City are on Level 6 in Adsetts Library, in room 6.01
  • If online, choose from text chat, screen sharing, microphone, and/or camera
  • Book a maximum of one appointment per seven days (one week)

About these appointments

  • These are 30 minute bookable 1-1s with an Academic Skills Adviser for queries about your academic work or skills.
  • Book a maximum of one appointment per seven days (one week). This means you can develop work between sessions, and is fair to other students.
  • The 1-1s can be attended online, or by phone, and some have the option to attend on campus.
  • Online appointments can be conducted using cameras, microphones and screen sharing, or text chat only if this is your preference.

Librarian 1-1 Appointments (Online)

  • These are 30 minute bookable 1-1s with a Librarian for queries about finding, managing, evaluating, and referencing information resources.
  • You may only have one live booking at a time.
  • If no appointments are available, contact us via Hallam Help or Library chat.

1-1 appointments - Digital Skills

Digital Skills Appointments (Online)

  • These are 30 minute bookable 1-1s with a Senior Library Administrator for queries about Word, Excel, or PowerPoint presentations, etc.
  • You may only have one live booking at a time.
  • If no appointments are available, contact us via Hallam Help or Library chat.

Workshops or 1-1 sessions with a maths or stats tutor may be available within your department: please ask your course tutor.

International students can discuss any aspect of their Academic English with a specialist advisor in these 30-minute 1-1 online appointments.
