Getting Back into Study: Refresher Guide for Students (HWLS): Getting Back into Study

So you are returning to education!

So you've decided to return to education and now you are feeling a little overwhelmed at all the things you need to do for your course and your study. Well, Don't Panic! The Library is here to support you on every step of your journey through your course. Our aim is to help you to be the best student you can be.

This guide is designed as an introduction to the Library, using our resources and getting help when you need it. If it has been a while since you studied last, things have probably changed but that's ok: this guide is here to help you develop and refresh your skills as a student using the Library. It is also designed as a refresher for students who may have studied more recently, but still - things change rapidly in the landscape of technology and information literacy.

You can either follow the guide through logically (we'd advise this!), or you can pick the sections you want to focus on. It's completely up to you. Each tab has a button to the next/previous section at the bottom, so you can toggle through quite easily.

Remember though, it's important to take regular breaks for your mental and physical wellbeing, so don't think you have to work through this in one go! It's designed that you can do a bit and then take a break.

Good luck and enjoy your journey!

What's Next?

Well, start at the beginning! Your Library provides lots of resources for you to access and a good place to start is by learning 'how' to use the Library. At some point you will need to borrow a book, come in to use a PC or study space, or find out what time the helpdesk is open.
