Do you have time over the summer to improve your academic and professional skills?

Alongside the other student sessions and resources from the Skills Centre, you can use Skills for Study to develop your academic skills at your own pace.

Skills for Study includes self-tests, interactive activities, and videos on a wide range of essential academic skills, from writing skills, critical thinking and time management, to research principles, personal development and employability.

The resource can guide you along a personalised learning journey, helping you to focus on your priority areas for development. You can work through this versatile package at your own pace, targeting particular skills you want to improve, and doing so at a time and place to suit you.

Here’s the reaction from a staff tutor who used it with her students:

Positive feedback on the presentation skills section of the Skills 4 Study resource.

You can also use features such as the learning journal and the progress indicators within Skills for Study to keep track of your learning journey.

So get started now, at skillsforstudy.com.   NB. You may need to create an account for your first access to Skills for Study (use your email address in this format: name.details@student.shu.ac.uk), but afterwards you can simply use the Institutional Account login.
