Welcome to Wellbeing Wednesday in the Library!

Each Wednesday, we will be featuring two books or web based information to help support your wellbeing. Where to start! Well, let’s begin at the beginning and for the library, we are going back to the very beginning and starting with A and ending with Z! Q may be a little difficult but let’s explore our way through the world of wellbeing!

Today we begin with A and Anxiety and this article from one of the Wellbeing Practitioners from Student Wellbeing: https://www.shu.ac.uk/wellbeing/topics/anxiety

Anxiety is Really Strange by Steve Haines and Sophie Standing.
Fantastically informative science based comic book with a lot of neuroscience and practical suggestions and tools for managing anxiety. Other books in the series include Trauma is Really Strange and Pain is Really Strange. Full of citations and references to help you find more information!

The Anxiety Survival Guide : Getting Through the Challenging Stuff by Bridie Gallagher, Sue Knowles, Phoebe McEwen and Emmeline Pidgen.
Includes multiple evidence based approaches to help you find which suits you! The book is co-written by psychologists and a college student.

Our wellbeing levels can differ at different times and it is OK to ask for support. Each of us may prefer to get support in different ways. Reading or researching around an issue, connecting with a group whether it be in person on online or speaking on a one to basis with a trusted ally.
