Scrabble tiles spell out the word 'summer'

Are you working on an assignment or dissertation this summer? Or maybe you're looking to get ahead with some reading and preparation for the new academic year? The Library's Skills Centre are here over the summer months for all students, on any course.

Talk to an advisor

  • 1-1 appointments will continue online and over the phone throughout August. Check our website or Unihub for available appointments. We update our calendars every 2 weeks, so check back to book appointments for later in August.

  • For quick questions, virtual drop-ins will run every Wednesday, from 4-6pm. No need to book - just join the online waiting room to speak to an Academic Skills Advisor, Librarian or Digital Skills expert. Check the Unihub details for each week for details on when a statistics advisor will be available.

Get feedback on your work

All students now have an additional 4 submissions to Studiosity and can submit up to 5500 words with each submission to Studiosity until July 31st 2022. If you have used up all 8 submissions already, please log into Blackboard and check your Studiosity account - you should now have 4 more opportunities to upload your work for feedback, or to Connect Live and speak to a Studiosity tutor via online chat.

Studiosity submissions will reset on August 1st when all students will have 8 submissions available for the 22/23 academic year.

Writing your postgraduate dissertation

Catch up on our recordings of our recent Writing Gym programme - 6 sessions designed to explore each section of your dissertation in detail. For information on research methods and collecting data, including recruiting participants and working with secondary data, check out the recordings of our 15 minute Lightning Webinars.
