This guide is designed to direct you to the essential resources for your subject. The guide has been compiled by your Learning and Teaching Librarian.
This guide covers the core resources you need for day-to-day study and research. However, you may sometimes find other subject guides useful for specialised topics. For more information about library services and facilities generally see Library Online pages.
If there's a book which you need but which we don't have in stock, we can ask another library to loan you a copy, or to email you a copy of an individual chapter or section. This can be done through our document supply service.
If you think a book may be useful for other students or staff as well as yourself, you can also request that the Library buys a copy. We can't promise to buy everything but will do what we can for feasible requests which are relevant to courses at Sheffield Hallam.
If we don't have a journal article or conference proceeding in stock, we can ask another library to email a copy to you via our Document Supply Service. While it may not be possible to get absolutely everything, most articles can be obtained this way.
