Library Online: Referencing Guide

Referencing at

Sheffield Hallam University

Referencing is an important skill to learn at university and you are required to reference all your sources including quotes, paraphrases, data, images, and diagrams.  Marks are often given for accurate referencing as this allows you to avoid plagiarism and demonstrate good academic practice.  There are different referencing styles and APA 7th edition is recommended for many courses taught at Sheffield Hallam, but do check with your course and module leader which referencing style you need to follow.  The sections below provide further guidance.
