Tesol International Association
TESOL International Association’s mission is to advance professional expertise in English language teaching and learning for speakers of other languages worldwide.
British Council
The British Council are a charity, an executive non-departmental public body and a public corporation. Their mission is to "‘promoting a wider knowledge of [the UK] and the English language abroad and developing closer cultural relations between [the UK] and other countries."

This resource was produced by the British Council and relates to teaching English.
International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language,
International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language (IATEFL) is one of the most thriving communities of ELT teachers in the world. The organisation produces regular publications, including the magazine IATEFL Voices, an Annual International Conference, fifteen Special Interest Groups to help teachers develop their own lines of interest, links with Teachers' Associations in other countries for teachers to share knowledge and experience.
British Association of Lecturers in English for Academic Purposes
British Association of Lecturers in English for Academic Purposes (BALEAP) supports the professional development of those involved in learning, teaching, scholarship and research in English for Academic Purposes (EAP).
British Association for Applied Linguistics
British Association for Applied Linguistics (BAAL) is a professional association based in the UK, which provides a forum for people interested in language and applied linguistics.
National Association for Teaching English and Community Languages to Adults.
This organisation is the National Association for Teaching English and Community Languages to Adults (NATECLA).
The National Subject Association for EAL
National Association for Language Development in the Curriculum (NALDIC) is the UK’s national subject association for EAL. NALDIC provides a professional forum for the teaching and learning of English as an additional language, supporting bilingualism, raising the achievement of ethnic minority learners, and promoting the development of research, policy and practice.
