What's on after 5pm?

You can still develop your skills after 5pm with our wide range of online sessions and resources:

Webinars and 1-1s

Want to miss the 5pm traffic? We offer live online sessions until 6pm from Tuesday-Thursday, including 1-1 appointments, academic and digital skills webinars and assistive technology sessions. Times vary – check our calendar or Unihub for an up-to-date schedule.

Virtual drop-ins

If you have quick questions about your assignments, come along to our library virtual drop-ins, every Wednesday 4-6pm. There will be a team of expert advisors online to chat 1-1 and answer any questions you have about:

  • Finding literature for your assignments
  • Understanding assignment briefs
  • Critical writing
  • Referencing
  • Using software and digital tools
  • Statistics and statistical software

There’s no need to book – just drop into our online waiting room.

We also offer a wide range of online resources and services that you can use any time, including:

  • Studiosity - you can access the Studiosity Online Writing Feedback Service and Connect Live Chat Service 24/7 for feedback on your writing drafts.
  • Skills4Study – Self-guided modules and e-learning activities on a wide range of academic skills topics. 
  • Session recordings We record all of our webinars so that you can watch sessions in your own time. Just follow the link and log in with your SHU username and password to get started.
