Wednesday 21st July 12-1pm: Introduction to Digimap

Digimap is a platform and suite of tools for viewing, manipulating and annotating a wide range of maps. While the service is primarily aimed at geography and related discipline, many elements of Digimaps have applications in numerous other subject areas. This is a session for Digimap novices, introducing how to use Digimap to view and create custom Ordnance Survey maps, easily access demographic data, and view historical maps.

Wednesday 21st July, 1.30-2.15pm: Getting started with Dimensions database 

 

Dimensions is a database that offers a unique way to search a comprehensive collection of  linked data in a single platform; from grants, publications, datasets and clinical trials to patents and policy documents. Because Dimensions maps the entire research lifecycle, you can follow research from funding through output to impact.

Come along to this session for a 30 minute presentation with colleagues from Dimensions who will be demonstrating the key features and how to use them. There will be 15 minutes at the end for questions.

SAGE Research Methods (SRM) supports research through every step of the process, from students learning how to conduct research to faculty conducting research for publication. As well as books, the collection includes instructional videos and resources to help you plan and find the best technique to progress your research.

The collection includes nearly 1,000 books, reference works, journal articles, and instructional videos by world-leading academics from across the social sciences.
