Sue Willis previously worked as a senior lecturer and Course leader for the MSc in Supportive and Palliative Care and a  Module Leader for Advanced Communication and Information in Supportive Care, Psychology of Cancer Care and Paediatric Cancer and Its Management. She presented this for us shortly before leaving the University.

As Document Delivery Services Manager my role covers interesting and varied areas work; including copyright, document supply, accessible formats, digitisation and- of course- distance learner support. The Document Delivery Services team also work closely with the Acquisitions and Metadata Services teams to support collection development.

I am currently one of a team of 10 Study Skills and Maths Skills Advisors at the University of Chester. I am the Business and Management faculty link and try to promote the embedding and uptake of study skills within the faculty. We work with students in variety of ways including co-teaching, general study skills seminars, e-support and one to ones.

Heather Shaw is a Learning and Teaching Librarian supporting the School of Art and Design and the School of Architecture, Design and the Built Environment.  The Learning and Teaching Team provide guidance for students covering all aspects of academic
skills development such as: literature searching using Library OneSearch; referencing; academic writing (e.g. essay writing, understanding the question); critical thinking; time management; and revision. They work with academics to ensure the library provides the relevant resources to support the learning and teaching needs of all students; work with academic colleagues in course development; teach workshops and lectures embedded within taught courses; and represent the library at key School meetings such as course committees, Learning and Teaching Development meetings and the Academic Standards and Quality committee.

I am liaison librarian at The University of Sheffield Library, supporting five departments within the Faculty of Social Sciences. I increasingly deliver information and digital literacy sessions online now, both for teaching embedded in curricula and for our IDL Workshops and the Doctoral Development Programme.

As more departments provide distance learning courses and students choose to study off-campus, I'm aiming to build my knowledge and understanding around what distance and part-time learners want from the Library. This presentation reports back on the findings of a short survey of Information School students. Going forward, I'd like to use data we take from our reading lists software to see how distance learners might use the platform compared with on-campus students.

My role is Information Specialist/University Teacher and I deliver information literacy sessions to our online learners as part of my teaching role. I have specialised in online learning for about a decade now and currently lead one of our online MSc programmes.

My presentation is about using video and webinars for infoskills teaching for online learners. I teach our students how to search databases such as Medline and CINAHL with the aim of doing a fairly systematic search.

Studiosity - online feedback took whereby students can submit a piece of work and receive feedback within 24 hours.  Feedback so far has been positive.

I’m librarian at the HSMC library (a specialist library that supports students, academics and contract users) and I look after our Canvas pages, physical and online collections and act as subject liaison to students on the NHS Leadership Academy programme. I also maintain our Twitter account, produce a range of current awareness bulletins and do literature searching…it’s quite a mixed job!
