Location

Event Location: Charles Street Building, room 12.4.12 (fourth floor, room 12).

Sheffield Hallam University, City Campus.

Here is an AccessAble guide for Charles Street Building which provides information on various accessibility considerations for the building.

Parking is not available on campus. However, there is all-day parking available nearby. Further details are available on the Sheffield Hallam Where to Park guide

Charles Street Building is approximately a 10-minute walk from the train station. The route is accessible but does include a relatively steep incline up the hill. Here is a link to Charles Street Building on Google Maps. Below is a map with added arrows to show the easiest route from Sheffield Train Station. More detailed directions can be found in the box underneath.

Directions from Sheffield station

Leave the train station through the main doors and follow the path which curves up the hill. There will be a steel water feature on your right. Continue until you reach the pedestrian crossing.

Go across the traffic-lighted pedestrian crossing and the subsequent crossing directly ahead. From here, continue straight up the path and up the hill (Howard Street).

When you are near the top of the hill, you will see a pub called The Globe and a mural on the side of a building opposite it, which says 'Now then' with a brightly coloured background. Turn left and follow the road that runs between these two buildings (Arundel Street).

Continue along Arundel Street, passing one of the new Sheffield Hallam buildings currently under construction on your left. Turn right onto Charles Street. Continue up the road, passing the entrance to the Arundel building which will be on your left.

The entrance to the Charles Street building will then be on your left-hand side. Once you enter the building, the café will be on your left, the stairs will be ahead of you and the lifts will be to your right.

Facilities

On each floor, there are accessible toilets and water fountains located close to the toilets.

Lunch Options

The café in Charles Street will be closed on the day of the Teachmeet so we would encourage participants to bring their own lunch or make use of the local supermarkets and cafes.

There is a Tesco and a Sainsburys close to the building as well as a number of nice cafes (Wellies, Mow’s coffee, Tamper).
