Library and Skills Centre Teachmeet 2025

Location

Event Location: Surrey Building, Room 5520 (fifth floor, Room 20), Sheffield Hallam University, City Campus, S1 1WB.

Below you can find an image of room 5520. This room has windows we can open with lots of natural light. The furniture arrangement may be slightly different on the day from what's pictured, as we will likely opt to join tables to create small groups.

Here is an AccessAble guide for Surrey Building which provides information on various accessibility considerations for the building.

Parking is not available on campus. However, there is all-day parking available nearby. Further details are available on the Sheffield Hallam Where to Park guide

Surrey Building is approximately a 10-minute walk from the train station. The route is accessible but does include a relatively steep incline up the hill. Surrey Building is part of a cluster of interconnected Sheffield Hallam buildings and is most easily accessed through the entrance to Owen Building. The directions suggested by apps such as Google Maps may be misleading. Below is a map with added arrows to show the easiest route from Sheffield Train Station. More detailed directions will be added on this guide closer to the day.

Facilities

There are male, female, and accessible toilets on floor 5 of Surrey Building where the event will take place.

Lunch Options

The Hallam cafés may be closed on the day of the Teachmeet so we would encourage participants to bring their own lunch or make use of the local supermarkets and cafes.

There is a Tesco and a Sainsburys close to the building as well as a number of nice cafes (Wellies, Mow’s coffee, Tamper).
