Legacy RefWorks upgrade to ProQuest RefWorks

Saving your Legacy RefWorks account to a file will retain your references but not your folders.   We therefore recommend following the instructions for Manual upgrade if the institutional upgrade has not worked for your account.  

However if you want a file with all your references, or to transfer your references to other referencing software this is how you do it:

• Login to Legacy RefWorks

• Select References >> Export

• In the dialogue box choose All References

• Select an export format:

  • If you want to add your references to ProQuest RefWorks, choose RefWorks Tagged Format

  • For other software choose the appropriate format from the drop-down list.

• Click Export Format

This will create a file that you can use with Import options in ProQuest RefWorks and other Referencing software.
