Adsetts and Collegiate Library buildings reopened on Monday 21st September and will be open all day, every day: 24 hours a day - 7 days a week - 365 days a year.
Socially distanced study spaces will be available for individual quiet study and you will need to book these before visiting the libraries using MyPC. The cafes within both libraries will be open to provide hot drinks, snacks and sandwiches.
There will be no direct access to the bookshelves, but our Click & Collect service will continue to provide you with print resources.
If you cannot get online from home, access specialist software, or the other learning resources you need to complete assessments or prepare for examinations, please contact Hallam Help.
Have you just started at Hallam? Or are you coming back for another year? Have a look at SearchStart and it'll give you a helping hand to find resources for your work. There's some information about other university services you can use as well. Don't worry if you're not quite sure whether you get it. There are videos and interactive quizzes so you can check your understanding along the way.
At Sheffield Hallam, we offer a huge number of excellent information resources and search tools to help you with your assignments and research.
The Library brings together all of these resources and will guide you in finding and using the resources you need, whatever your level of study.
The first search box you will see is Library Search, which can find results from our book collection, our full text journals and many other sources, and return them in one integrated list that can be refined to show just the kind of resource you need.
Click on the Library Search tab above for more information.
We have on the Library site a link to our Subject Guides, which are designed to help you find and use specific academic resources that may not be covered by Library Search.
You'll find information regarding books, eBooks, and specific journals that you should be using. We've also put handy RSS feeds giving up-to-date and relevant information for your subjects.
We've crafted an A to Z list of the databases and resources we have access to, so if you know your Mintel from your Fame, this is the list for you.
Googling in an academic way is made easier by using Google Scholar. It will restrict results to more academic sources and, if you log in to MyHallam first, it will help you find the full text.
